Assignment 5 and Quiz 5

  • Your solution to HW 5 is due on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 prior to the class.
  • Quiz 5 based on HW 5 will be held on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 in the class. The quiz will

be a short question similar in nature to the ones in Assignment 3 to be completed in 15 minutes.


Assignment 4 and Quiz 4

  • Your solution to HW 4 is due on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 prior to the class.
  • Quiz 4 based on HW 4 will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 in the class. The quiz will

be a short question similar in nature to the ones in Assignment 3 to be completed in 15 minutes.

  • Quiz 3 based on HW 3 will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 in the class. The quiz will

be a short question similar in nature to the ones in Assignment 3 to be completed in 15 minutes.


Assignment 2 and Quiz 2

  • Your solution to HW 2 is due on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 prior to the class.
  • Quiz 2 based on HW 2 will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 in the class. The quiz will

be a short question similar in nature to the ones in Assignment 2 to be completed in 15 minutes.


Assignment 1 and Quiz 1

  • Your solution to HW 1 is due on Tuesday, Sep. 18, 2012 prior to the class.
  • Quiz 1 based on HW 1 will be held on Thursday, Sep. 20, 2012 in the class. The quiz will be a short question similar in nature to the ones in Assignment 1 to be completed in 15 minutes.

Mid Term Exam

  • The mid-term exam will be held on Oct. 18, 2012 during the lecture time in class.
  • Instructions for Mid-term:
  1. It is an 80 minutes, close-book test.
  2. One letter size crib sheet (8 ½ x 11”) and a non-programmable calculator may be used, but no other material will be allowed including blank paper.
  3. Write your name, student number, email address and section on your test paper in the space provided above. Don’t turn this page until you are instructed to.
  4. Use the test paper for all work (including scratch work) and you may use the back of pages; Do not tear out pages. Hand in the test paper at the close of the examination.
  5. Do all problems. Make sure you number the solution parts according to the problem. You must show your work and explain clearly what you are doing. Answers without explanation or shown work where appropriate will receive low or zero points.
  6. Keep your York photo ID (or other acceptable photo ID) on the desk in front of you so that the instructor may inspect it without disturbing you.
  7. No questions will be allowed during the exam. Good luck!
