Hints for Assignment 4:

  1. Table B.1 provides values of Q(x) up to x = 3.4. For any other value of x, you may use Matlab to calculate Q(x) using the relationship Q(x) = 0.5 erfc[x/(2^0.5)].
  2. Though not derived in the class, you can Table 4.1 on page 219 for error probabilities of coherent and non-coherent versions of BPSK and BFSK.
