Please note that no lab will be held this week.

EECS 4352/5442 Test 1 will be held on Thursday February 11, 2016, 11:30-13:00.

EECS 4352/5442 Test 2 will be held on Thursday March 31, 2016, 11:30-13:00.

February 9, 2016

CSE4352 Test 1 will be held on Thursday February 11, 2016, 11:30-13:00.

Test 1 will include: (a) Material covered in the lectures from the beginning of the term up to and including the lecture on Tuesday February 9; (b) Material in the files RT.1.pdf, RT.2.pdf, RT.3.pdf, and slides 1-14 of RT.4.pdf in the course directory /cs/course/4352.

It is possible that Test 1 may include true/false questions, questions that require short answers, questions that may require the drawing of diagrams, questions that require slightly longer answers, and other possible question formats.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE MATERIAL IN THE SLIDES, AND THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS FOR WHICH SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED IN CLASS. IF YOU HAD MISSED A LECTURE, MAKE SURE YOU OBTAIN A COPY OF THE NOTES TAKEN IN CLASS FROM A CLASSMATE, AS TEST 1 MAY INCLUDE QUESTIONS THAT ARE SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS FOR WHICH SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED IN CLASS.

Please note that the deadline for reserving a topic is Friday February 12, 2016, 23:59.

If a topic is not reserved by the deadline of Friday February 12, 2016, 23:59, but reserved by Monday February 15, 2016, 23:59, then the mark for the topic study will be reduced by 1 grade point (for example, from B+ to B).

If a topic is not reserved by Monday February 15, 2016 23:59, but reserved by Friday February 19, 2016, 23:59, then the mark for the topic study will be reduced by 2 grade points (for example, from B+ to C+).

If a topic is not reserved by Friday February 19, 2016, 23:59, then the mark for the topic study will be zero (0).

Please read the warning posted in the course directory /cs/course/4352/ Warning_concerning_the_work_by_Vincent_Wu_and_Dan_Han.pdf, before reading the work by Vincent Wu and Dan Han.

In particular, please note that:

1. The requirements that the work by Vincent Wu and Dan Han were intended to satisfy, were DIFFERENT compared with the requirements of the EECS 4352/5442 Real-Time System Practice Winter 2016 Project as described in the document /cs/course/4352/4352project_W16.pdf.

2. The work by Vincent Wu and Dan Han is NOT intended to be an example of how to satisfactorily meet all the requirements of the EECS 4352/5442 Real-Time System Practice Winter 2016 Project as described in the document /cs/course/4352/4352project_W16.pdf.

March 24, 2016

The University has adopted Weather Emergency Procedures at the Keele and Glendon Campuses. Effective 7 am Thursday 24 March 2016 all day and evening classes have been cancelled and examinations postponed. University offices and Libraries are closed. http://site.info.yorku.ca/weather-status/

As a result, the EECS 4352/5442 lecture on Thursday March 24, 2016 has also been cancelled.

EECS4352/CSE5442 Test 2 will be held on Thursday March 31, 2016, 11:30-13:00, at TEL 1004.

Test 2 will include: (a) Material covered in the lectures from the beginning of the term up to and including the lecture on Tuesday March 29; (b) Material in the files RT.4.pdf, RTP.0.pdf, and RTP.0.1.pdf in the course directory /cs/course/4352.

It is possible that Test 2 may include true/false questions, questions that require short answers, questions that require calculations, questions that may require the drawing of diagrams, questions that require slightly longer answers, and other possible question formats.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE MATERIAL IN THE SLIDES, AND THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS FOR WHICH SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED IN CLASS. April 4, 2016

1. You are required to hand in both a hard copy and an electronic copy of all the EECS 4352 /CSE 5442 course work by Monday April 4, 2016, 23:59. (Note that this the last day to hand in term work for the Winter 2016 term)

2. You are required to use the utility “submit” to submit the electronic versions of all course work above to the directories:

/cs/course/4352/submit/topic

/cs/course/4352/submit/project

The electronic versions of the reports (topic study slides and report; and project report) should be in PDF format.

3. For the hard copies of all the EECS4352 / CSE5442 course work:

- either give it to the secretary in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Office to be put into my mailbox; or put it in the dropoff box for EECS4352 in Lassonde Building; or you may slip it under the door of my office Lassonde 3018 (in the latter case, you are responsible for making sure that the thickness of your hard copy allows it to be slipped under my office door).
